What is CrossFit and is it for me?

CrossFit is constantly varied functional movement performed at high intensity. 

​

What does that mean? It is simple. We use functional movements that you do in everyday life (squatting, pushing, pulling) in a variety of combinations during each Workout of the Day (WOD.)

​

Do you carry your groceries from your car into your house? How about lifting and holding your kids? Ever pick up a box and need to lift it into your attic? 

These are all functional movements and movements we do in CrossFit… with a little heavier weight and with the clock running. In CrossFit, we focus on perfecting techniques for all these movements and many more so you can live a long, strong and capable life outside the four walls of the gym.

What can I expect?

You did it! You walked through the door. Big win!

Now what?

​

One of our coaches will greet you, give you a quick tour of the gym, ask about any injuries or limitations & have you sign a waiver. Next, the coach will take you over to the warm up area and walk you through the class warmup with everyone else. (We also like to laugh and catch up during this time ;) ) 

​

After the warmup time, the coach will bring the class around the whiteboard to discuss the workout and scaling options for the day. They will address any questions and then get everyone started on warming up the movements for the day.
The coach will take you through the range of movements and identify the best movement options for you and correct movement patterns as needed.


Then we all do the workout together!

During the entire hour, your coaches are focused on helping you move better, making sure you are safe and motivated throughout the workout. 

​

Once the workout (WOD) is finished, you’ll get some fist bumps/high fives and have the opportunity to cool down & make a few new friends!
